It gives me great pleasure to introduce RapidCompute, Cybernet’s cloud computing service and the first such service in Pakistan. The introduction of RapidCompute marks an important step in Cybernet’s strategic focus on application infrastructure and services. We are certain that tomorrow’s customers will demand more than just basic data and Internet products and we, as service providers, must strive for higher levels of quality and for a multitude of important services.
The result of several months of hard work, the RapidCompute IaaScloud has been designed to be robust, scalable and cost effective. The RapidCompute infrastructure, based on best in breed components used by some of the world’s most advanced cloud providers, compares favorably on various industry benchmarks (such as IOPS, CPU and Network Performance) on similar application workloads.
We are confident that RapidCompute will enable businesses across Pakistan to avail important benefits of cloud services that were previously not available in the country.
First, the reduced latency (by as much as 90%) by having applications and services deployed on a cloud infrastructure within Pakistan, will make cloud services, and hosted applications, much more accessible. Organizations both inside and outside of Pakistan targeting local users will now be able to provide their customers unprecedented levels of interactivity and responsiveness.
The RapidCompute division will also leverage Cybernet’s years of experience in providing system and application level support for online services such as databases, web, email and other hosted applications. The advantage of having such an experienced team on-ground and ready to assist will provide local software developers and organizations the confidence to deploy their applications within Pakistan.
One of our primary motivations for introducing RapidCompute is to help usher an era of indigenously developed content and applications and to assist in building a local, online eco system. We, at Cybernet, believe that our nation has the potential to becoming a fully engaged electronic nation, and are confident that RapidCompute will provide local governments and institutions the impetus to make – much awaited – eGovernment services a reality.
Finally, our commitment to RapidCompute extends beyond our borders: we intend to invest in expanding infrastructure and services outside of Pakistan so that we can bring the benefits of RapidCompute to communities across the world.
